15th Anniversary Season Fundraising Appeal
Help us to raise £15,000 in our 15th Year!
Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory (SATTF) was first conceived as an independent theatre company in 1999, and 2014 will mark our 15th Anniversary.
SATTF is one of the UK's most admired ensemble theatre companies. Over 22,000 people visit our three month seasons in Bristol each year, which regularly sell-out. We offer unique education workshops and opportunities for young people - please see SATTF Education for more information about our work.
This year we embark on our second national tour - after several previously successful excursions across the UK - presenting our work to an ever growing audience demographic and we intend to tour on a regular basis, funding permitting.
'Merely A Madness' - SATTF's 15th Anniversary and William Shakespeare's 450th birthday:
We celebrate our 15th anniversary in the same year as William Shakespeare's 450th birthday. We marked the occasion at a post-show event in Tobacco Factory Theatres bar on Shakespeare's official birthday, Wednesday 23 April and through a fundraising event at Hilton Garden Inn, Bristol the following evening which was open to Friends and supporters of SATTF. Members of the 2014 company presented a programme of Shakespeare’s words and music about love – ‘Merely A Madness’.
Now in our 15th year, SATTF is a charity that does not receive any core funding from public funds. We are extremely grateful to all of our supporters for their substantial generosity, which is critical to our survival and development. Many thanks to everyone who has already supported our appeal.
'SATTF receives no form of public subsidy; and in the present financial climate funds from commercial sponsors and charitable trusts are ever more difficult to find. So the support of individuals is critical to our survival. We have therefore launched a 15th Anniversary appeal to raise a vital £15,000 to support our 15th Season and help to secure our work into the future.'
